am I setting myself up for great disappointment?

I got an email from reid this morning...I was excited to hear from him--but the Disney princess fairy tale that's buried deep inside of me wants declarations of love (or even interest!) and other whimsical things...

are these things real? or am I just setting myself up for failure?
